Tennis Nairobi Kenya – Now at Agility Tennis Kenya.
Tennis in Nairobi Kenya started officially in the 19th century through the inception of the Kenya Lawn Tennis Association. KLTA. It was for most a recreational sport.
Over the years, the game evolved into a competitive sport with Kenya being represented in regional and global competitions.
As a result of this growth, one of the pioneers of tennis in Kenya, Mr Jim Davies, conceptualized the idea of having professional training facility and staff to meet the growing demand and interest in tennis.
This was the beginning of JD Tennis Academy in Nairobi Kenya. Which, when it was registered in 1975 had one murrum court. Many years later 3 deco-turf courts were added. Overall, the set up comprised of 3 hard courts,1 murrum court, a mini tennis court and a club house.
It is at this academy that our founder, Mr Kevin Muhuyi, honed his skills as a player for many years. And thereafter as a coach, introducing the game to many children and adults alike.
Due to unforeseen circumstances that affected the world in 2020, the JD Tennis Academy was shut down. This created a gap in the market that prompted Kevin to start the Agility Tennis Nairobi Program that provides tennis students with solid alternative.
TINY TOTS TENNIS NAIROBI KENYA
A program that offers children the opportunity to learn and play the game through a series of lesson progressions. It creates a proper foundation upon which kids continue to build their skills and interest in the sport.
JUNIOR TENNIS PROGRAM
This is an intermediate and advanced class that offers tactical skills, match play and physical endurance on real match situation.
Agility Tennis Nairobi Kenya has a full- fledged professional coaching staff that has coached many top junior and senior players. We provide our services to all kind of people and of all ages and levels.
Our mission is to introduce Tennis to as many people as possible including the under privileged in society. We aim to give coaching scholarships and set people up for success in life as players and/or coaches.
