Whenever you’re in Nairobi and you’d like to hit some balls, you can hire a court and play with friends. If you have no friends to hit with then you can hire a hitting partner and put in some work.
Is it that easy to get a court?
It should be that easy, however it’s not. Most courts in Nairobi Kenya are owned and managed by private sports clubs. In order to play on their courts, sports clubs expect players to pay the annual membership fee then pay the court fee.
As you can imagine, that is pretty absurd if you’re just visiting for a few days, weeks or months.
The court fee is also set by the membership club that owns the tennis courts thus we have no control over the court hire rate. Monies paid for court hire go directly to the membership club.
What is the solution?
As a result of this inaccessibility, Agility Tennis is on a mission to make the tennis courts accessible. If you book tennis lessons with us, we can handle the process of hiring a court since we are members of the clubs. This saves you the hassle of membership and also the hassle of dealing with 2 entities.
In addition to that, we have built some tennis courts and made them accessible to the public without them having to pay membership fees.
You can hire a court to play with friends for the duration of your choice. The minimum duration of hire is 1 hour and the maximum number of players allowed on the court, at a go, is 4.
On average, what is the court hire fee in Kenya?
Court hire fees vary from club to club but the price generally depends on the type of surface, the location of the courts/ area code and how well maintained the courts are. The court fee ranges from 400 Kes (Approx $4 USD) to 2000 Kes (Approx. $20 USD) for a 1 hour court hire session.
